Title: Build Manager

Location: Cleveland OH

Duration: 6months

BASIC FUNCTION:

 
 

Works with technical leads throughout IT to manage and schedule components through the Software Development Life Cycle.  Responsible for coordination and alignment of integration components and legacy components.  Serves as Subject Matter Expert for all related ITIL processes.

 
 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
 

 
 

1.       Coordinate, prepare, and monitor deployments of application code through test, stage and production environments.

          a.       Coordinate with IT Operations for environment needs depending upon project requirements.

          b.       Develop plan and timing for code promotion through SDLC states.

          c.       Timelines for outside/internal code moves

          d.       Validate and assist with creation of Harvest-based version tracking

          e.       Document component dependencies and requirements for configuration management

 
 

2.       Ensure that promotion of all application code is managed by automated tools (Harvest, Endevor).

 
 

3.       Works to identify application dependencies and technical dependencies across all development and infrastructure teams.

 
 

4.       Works closely with Test Environment Manager, Release Managers, Technical Leads, Project Managers and all key technical stakeholders in the SDLC process. Facilitates        cross team communication.

 
 

5.       Coordinates implementation of all related and required infrastructure changes.

 
 

6.       Maintains awareness for proper prioritization and scheduling of maintenance work to reduce impact to major functional releases.

 
 

7.       Develops consistent and repeatable build and release management plans including roles and responsibilities to ensure the consistent movement of code through all      environments.

 
 

8.       Develops the concept of release packages that facilitate and streamline testing and validation of all release components.

 
 

9.       Identifies potential problems and notifies the appropriate area of the problem.

 
 

10.     Participates in the related service management processes such as incident, problem, change, release and capacity management.

 
 

          a.       Develops standards for required documentation to support change authorization and approval from lower environments through production. Participates on the Change                 Advisory Board.

 
 

          b.       Monitors adherence to Change and Release Management processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 
 

Five (5) years development experience with two or more programming languages required. Experience with software controls tools, concepts and software build and scripting tools such as Harvest and Endevor required.

 
 

Working knowledge of Windows and UNIX server environments preferred.  Experience with using/administering ITIL process tools such as Service Desk Express preferred.

 
 

Is a highly-technical individual who understands software and the infrastructure required to build, test, promote, and run the software. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.  Strong detail-oriented, problem solving and organizational skills required.  Strong understanding of ITIL Service Transition processes preferred.
