This position is for an individual to direct the transformation of logical data models provided by legacy z/OS applications into physical data models suitable for use on an object-oriented platform and to provide knowledge transfer to existing staff. Platform includes Java, Java OO, Hibernate ORM, Ab Initio, Websphere and DB2 for z/OS.
Desired experience includes: DB2 for z/OS V8 or above; logical-to-physical data modeling; database partitioning strategies; Java and Java OO; Hibernate ORM; dynamic SQL tuning; Data Access Object layer design/build; ETL from IMS to DB2; ERWin; Enterprise Services Bus; metadata repositories; DB2 for LUW; DB2 PureXML.
Primary duty includes one or more of the following: Planning, Programming, Modeling. Performs in one of the following sub-roles: (1) Data Base Administrator: designs and configures complex databases with replication and multi-nodes, develops comprehensive DB implementation/upgrade plans, translates logical to physical design, creates DB objects, builds backup/recovery/load scripts, and can support development thru production. Proficiency in database and/or SQL analysis and tuning; (2) Data Administrator: creates, analyzes, translates, and maintains complex logical and/or physical data models, metadata respositories, and data catalogues. Maintains security event logs. Ensures all productions changes are made in accordance with lifecycle methodology and risk guidelines.
